The Cleaning Book Clean til' it gleams

Living room: Walls

Living room – Walls

Now we can move down from the ceiling and work on cleaning up those walls. If you have paneling in your living area, wiping it down with a good wood polish twice a year is going to keep it shining and in great shape for years to come. Paneling often dries out and looks dull making your living area less inviting.

If you have plaster or drywall in your living areas, one way to really spruce up your home is to start with a fresh coat of paint if it has been over ten years. This is a great start to making your home look fresh and then you can work on making it stay fresh and gleaming clean!

Plaster and drywall often will have holes or cracks in them. One way to make your home look nicer is to fill in these holes or to cover them with a picture. Caulking can be used to fill in cracks, putty can be put in holes, and then your walls will look so much nicer.

Cleaning your painted walls with hot soapy water every few months will be needed to keep dust from getting to far out of hand. If you have spider webs in the corners, you can sweep them out with a soft broom or a dust rag.
