Living room: Smells

Living room –Smells

Odors linger all through the home and the living room is no different. Smells from socks, feet, shoes, eating, odors from other areas of the house, and even body odor can linger in the living room long after you are not.

There are many ways that you can fight odors in the living room. What you need to do is keep fresh potpourri in baskets on shelving or hidden in other types of decorations that you have in the living room.

Scented candle lighten the smells in rooms even when they are not lit. Scented candles can be in jars, or liquid candles in floating potpourri. Scents from candles cover the odors in your home for those most unexpected visitors.

Another odor fighting tip for you is that you can sprinkle carpet freshener over your carpet, leave it on all morning or all day, and vacuum up a few hours later. There are odor-controlling powders that you can purchase in your local retail centers or you can sprinkle baking soda on the carpet in the same manner.

Besides carpet sprinkles, there are foaming carpet cleaners that you spray on, leave dry and vacuum up, which leaves your carpets and the whole room smelling just great!

If you have an odor you just can’t seem to get rid of, you may want to check in the sofa for food that was dropped in there. If you have large plants and cats, you might want to check out the plant. Cats are known to make use of the plants instead of their little box causing a big stink.
