The Cleaning Book Clean til' it gleams

The Kitchen: The range hood

The kitchen – The range hood

An area that usually is ‘forgotten’ about during your weekly cleaning sessions is the range hood. This is the area above your stove, that has the vent, to keep odors from traveling through your home, but the range hood is also a space where all the splatters of sauce and grease will gather to create an unsightly mess. You will need to use a good grease cutter on your range hood.

Hot soap and water when you cook daily wiped over the range hood is going to keep some of the grease build up from happening but once a week or every two weeks you are going to need to cut the grease on your range hood with a grease cutting liquid. Simply wipe on and off for a great clean up.

The vent inside of the range hood will need cleaned as well. Soaking the filter in hot water or in a grease cutter may be necessary to get all that gunk off the range hood filter.  Take a look inside your range hood and you will see all the grease splatters that are in there right now!
