The Kitchen: Food storage

The kitchen – Four tips for food storage

Keeping your kitchen clean and organized is more than just cleaning the room item by item. Your kitchen is going to appear cleaner and stay cleaner when you keep your food organized and stored in a manner that doesn’t spill as easy.

If you purchase cereals in bags, pouring the cereal into large plastic square containers is going to keep cereal fresh while preventing those spills all over the floor during the busiest times of the morning when you don’t have time to clean.

Rice and noodles can be kept in plastic containers and stacked in your cupboards as well. Have you ever grabbed for a bag of rice only to have the end fall open pouring rice down the counter and over the floor? Get into the habit of putting your rice and noodles in containers to prevent messy spills.

Keep a handle on crumbs by putting your bread in a drawer or in a breadbox.

Crumbs fall from your open crackers and snacks – putting open crackers and snacks into sealed containers will cut back on crumbs that fall to the floor and keep ants from being attracted to your kitchen.
