The Cleaning Book Clean til' it gleams

The Kitchen: Floors

The kitchen – Floors

The floors in your kitchen can be a sticky mess sometimes. Cleaning your kitchen floors can be a long and cumbersome project if you have given your floors a good deep clean in a while.

Sweeping your floor daily, or at least every other day is going to be important in keeping your house to look gleaming clean all the time. Mopping your flooring at least once week to pick up all the mess is required to keep up on the heavy dirt that can be tracked in and out of the kitchen.

About once a month a good deep clean will be required in your kitchen, where you do something special for your flooring. Waxing your flooring, scrubbing your flooring on your hands and knees or stripping the wax from your floor once a month – these are the types of things you can do to keep your kitchen floor in top shape and always clean looking. Sweeping and mopping weekly is going to keep your floor clean looking and prolong that deep cleaning to just once a month.

If you have not tried some of the swifter type wet mops you are in for a pleasant surprise. All you have to do is attach the wet ‘paper towel’ like thing to the end of your mop head and mop the floor. This is a great way to keep hair, dust, and scuffmarks from building up on your kitchen vinyl floors.

Keeping pet bowls in the kitchen can be an odor and mess problem. Placing the pet water and food bowls on a plastic mat that you can easily wipe up but that will control spills at the same time is going to be a time saver for you in the long run.
