The Kitchen: Dishes

The kitchen – Dishes

The inside of your dishwasher can be a dirty place, or at least look really dirty if you have hard water. Running the dishwasher through when it is empty with vinegar is going to keep hard water build ups from happening and it will keep your dishwasher water jets in tip top shape.

If you wash dishes by hand, filling your sink with hot water and soap and then the other side with clear water is going to save water when you are doing dishes instead of running water down the drain when you are rinsing dishes.

Save yourself a few minutes when you are doing dishes and let them air dry on the counter. When your dishes are air-drying, you can sweep the floor, start the laundry or help with homework, or just take a two-minute break!

When you are washing your dishes, there seems to be a method of doing dishes that will allow you to wash all the dishes in the same water that will save you on water, time in filling the sink and soap that you have to put in the water.

When you are washing dishes from a large meal, washing all the glasses first and then your plates will give you sparkling dishes that are clean. Next, you can wash up all your silverware and any stray pots and pans that are not greasy or too dirty. The greasiest, sauciest, and dirtiest of pans is what you will wash last so that your other dishes will not be left with a film of grease on them!
