The Children’s Room: Maintenance cleaning |
|||
The children’s room – Maintenance cleaningMaintaining a clean room is going to be your young child’s responsibility. You will have to give them a chore list, and they are going to have to do it every week. Your cleaning their rooms is not going to save you any time in cleaning and it is not going to teach them how to care for their own goodies. You can delegate these chores as you see fit, some are daily, and some are weekly. Picking up the toys is a never-ending task. Before going to bed every night, toys should be picked up off the floor and put away. Put toys into baskets, buckets, or in the toy box or even in the closet. Toys left on the floor leave the entire room unorganized and dirty looking, so make sure your children clean up their toys after playing with them. A clean home starts with at least being able to see the floors in all your rooms! Sweeping the floors is something that really needs completed every week. Getting the dirt and hair off the floor at least weekly is going to prolong the life of the carpets, helping carpets keep their plushness, and it is going to put off that day of deep cleaning. Sweeping each week keeps down the dust and dander for those who suffer from allergies. Quickly wiping the walls or the doors is something that should be done every week or at least every two weeks. Wiping down the walls where the children touch most often will keep those deep cleaning sessions far from your mind as the walls are going to still look great. Wiping the door down with a quick polish, around the door handle and the middle of the door, is going to keep the finger marks off and keep the dirt from accumulating. Dusting in the children’s room is something that you can teach the children to do their selves. They can dust off their dresser, the bookshelf, and the windowsill in just a few minutes with a rag wet with polish. This will keep the room great looking all the time and put off those heavy cleaning times we all hate. |
